What is Data ?

Before we start discussing about Data Science, let’s start with a basic word ‘Data’.

First we will see how a human brain sees ‘Data’.

We see an object. That is nothing but Data.

We listen to a lecture. That is Data.

We think. We create Ideas. That is also Data.

Therefore, whatever we see, listen, think and talk is nothing but Data.

Now let’s replace human brain with a computer system.

Computer system also process the structured, unstructured like images and speech and semi-structured data just like Humans do.

Now we have a broad understanding what is Data. In the next topic, we will see how to deal with the Data.
